"Mark Badger’s Just Draw" is, in Badger’s own words, " a workshop on drawing cartoons when Godzilla happens.” This four-week workshop is for older teens, adults and seniors and meets once a week from 7-9pm every Thursdays in March in the Cartoon Art Museum at 781 Beach Street, San Francisco, in the museum’s educational space. “Mark Badger’s Just Draw” promises to be a unique and fun educational experience in the mindful art of productivity for cartoonists.

    Cartoon Camp is cooler than ever this summer in our brand new location with half & full days of drawing excitement! The Cartoon Art Museum invites students to take part in week-long workshops dedicated to the art of cartooning. We've organized three sessions from June to August 2018: Week 1: June 17th - 21st, Week 2: June 24th - 28th, Week 3: July 29th - August 2nd. Activities are appropriate for students 10-15 years old who enjoy drawing and are looking to build skills. Camp times run Mornings 9am-12:30pm, Afternoons 1:45pm - 5:15pm, or Full Days 9am-5:15pm M-F (dates listed by week above). Camp is located at the Cartoon Art Museum, 781 Beach Street, San Francisco, CA. A week of camp costs $300 or more (Discounts for CAM Members!) Details and terms at ticketing page.

EDUCATIONAL SERVICES

The Cartoon Art Museum offers a 50% discount for Youth and Educational Groups that schedule their visit in advance. Additional charges apply for Docent led tours of the exhibitions. The form below may be used to request a scheduled group visit. Group visits can also be arranged by calling 415-CARTOON.

The Cartoon Art Museum offers customized workshops to the public and institutions. Workshops are arranged to fit into your schedule, cartooning topic of choice, and skill level. You can schedule a single session or a series of workshops using the form below. The Cartoon Art Museum can also work with your school, library, business or child-care facility to bring a cartooning instructor to your location.

Cartooning workshops and a self-guided or docent-lead group visit to the museum can be folded into your curriculum, programming, team building, or after-school programs through creative hands-on activities and their career applications.

Please note:

  • Your desired date must be requested two or more weeks ahead.
  • Visits to or workshops at the museum can be requested for any day 11am-5pm.
  • A standard workshop is 2 hours and serves up to 20 students.
  • Additional time or students may be accommodated for additional fees.
  • Workshops with 5 or more students under 18 require 1 chaperone for up to every 10 students.

All classes take place at the museum’s educational space at 781 Beach Street or a partnered location unless otherwise requested. Classes requested off-site must take place at a public space or business location and cannot take place at private residences.
