Toon Talk: Mat Heagerty on "Unplugged and Unpopular"

Meet comics writer Mat Heagerty, on Sunday, November 3, 2019 from 1:00-3:00pm for a Toon Talk about the creation of his graphic novel Unplugged and Unpopular” and signing at the Cartoon Art Museum, 781 Beach Street in San Francisco. Heagerty’s debut book, “Unplugged and Unpopular,” illustrated by Tintin Pantoja and due out on October 15, centers on Erin Song, a spunky middle schooler who, after losing her screen time privileges, finds herself butting heads with some pesky extraterrestrials. It’s Diary of A Wimpy Kid meets Invasion of The Body Snatchers in this sci-fi comedy for middle readers.

Mat will discuss his creative process in the museum's Drawing Room and sign copies of his book in the Bil Keane Family Lobby. A limited number of Haegerty’s graphic novels will be available for sale, first come first serve. This event is free and open to the public.

Mat Heagerty is the creator and author of the middle-grade graphic novel 'Unplugged and Unpopular' (illustrated by Tintin Pantoja). His upcoming graphic novels include 'Martian Ghost Centaur' (Oni Press, 2020), 'A Jaywalker's Journal' (Oni Press, 2021), and 'Indoor Kid' (Oni Press, 2021). He lives with his family in Marin County, Calif.
